Lewisville, which is located just west of Winston-Salem, is one of the fastest growing communities in Forsyth County. Between the 2010 census (when Lewisville had a population of 12,639) and 2016, the town grew by nearly 8%!
While the town was incorporated in 1991, Lewisville can trace its roots back centuries; as a result, the town has taken considerable strides to preserve its local history and small-town charm, especially in the downtown area. - Lewisville Roller Mill — Built in 1910, this mill was Lewisville's largest employer for nearly 60 years. Today, the Lewisville Mill is home to two boutique local businesses: The Enchanted Cottage rubber stamp and craft store and The Coffee Mill coffee and tea shop.
- Shallowford Square — This outdoor courtyard and pavilion is a hot spot for town-sponsored events (including Concert Under the Stars and the Lewisville Street Party and Food Truck Festival), weddings and private parties. Shallowford Square is located on Shallowford Road across the street from Town Hall.
- Jack Warren Park — This park features bocce ball courts, a pavilion that can be rented for parties, trails and a playground.
Along with communities like Winston-Salem, Kernersville, Clemmons, Walkertown, Tobaccoville, Pfafftown and Rural Hall, Lewisville is located within the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System. Some of the biggest Lewisville schools are Lewisville Elementary, Meadowlark Middle, Reagan High and West Forsyth High.
With a total of 81 schools and a population of about 54,000 students, this school district is the fourth largest in North Carolina.
